Scientist

Mengying Wang joined 2Blades as a scientist in June 2024. She earned her Master's degree in Molecular Plant Pathology from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and her Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from North Carolina State University, USA. Mengying completed her first and second postdoctoral training at NC State and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, respectively. She has extensive experience in plant disease control using host-induced gene silencing technology, 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing for plant-associated microbiome analysis, Arabidopsis gravitropism and basic cell biology studies, as well as mammalian cell culturing, transfection, and ELISA analysis. Currently, she is working on the corn mycotoxin mitigation project with the 2Blades group at the University of Minnesota. She is passionate about exploring HPLC technology for fungal elicitor preparation to aid in the identification of genes that can contribute to disease resistance.
