Shona Strachan
Postdoctoral Scientist

Shona’s research is focused on the identification and cloning of resistances against soybean pathogens. The main area of her research focuses on exploring the resistance present in wild relative species of soybean, using both genomics and genetics approaches to discover novel resistance genes. Her aims are to identify and clone new genes to confer resistance against Phakopsora pachyrhizi (Asian Soybean Rust) from Glycines, develop transient assay systems in legume species, and utilize association genetics to identify candidate resistance genes in wild legumes.
