Sara Dorhmi
Postdoctoral Scientist

Sara Dorhmi investigates non-canonical plant resistance genes, with a particular interest in how unusual immune regulators contribute to defense against pathogens. Her work bridges molecular biology, plant-microbial interactions, and functional genomics to uncover how these atypical resistance pathways operate beyond the classical NLR-centered immune system. She has trained at institutions including the University of Georgia where she studied rice blast cell dynamics, UC Riverside on small RNAs which contribute to disease resistance, and The Sainsbury Laboratory. Her research experience brings a broad perspective to understanding the hidden layers of plant immunity.
